One of these days I really will write again. But, for now, as I spend my days Ebaying...so far over 100.00 made there and still lots more to go, craigslisting...lots of money made there, making hairbows, and trying to get dresses made, time's a little cramped. So, this is just picture catch up.

This would be Gavin and Ivye at work. To say the clean up was extensive would be putting mildly. My hands are still sticking to door knobs and windowsills.
He had 5 of these within him. Yuck, yuck, yuck...but kinda cool. You could follow them down his digestion track and go from perfectly intact and in good shape to mostly digested. The 5th one was too digested for the pic. On that note...think I'm gonna puke now.
Watching fireworks.

An absolutely all day affair to take apart, wash and put back together. Always remember...never wash carseat straps in detergent. Rinse with water only. Detergent breaks down the fibers of the straps and jeopardizes children's safety.

OK Nikki, I've got some questions about that snake! First, what kind was it? Second, how does a snake catch so many bats? Were they baby bats? How interesting for your son, when he cuts a snake open he gets a surprise...kinda like Cracker Jacks! ;o) Yesterday we were at Cabela's and I thought of your son and his taxidermy. They have some really amazing animals in there!
Well...we're off to a good start! No being bombarded for killing the animals!! LOL! It's a common rat snake, also known as coachwhip, chicken snake or bull snake. They get up to 7 ft long. Grayson's 1st taxidermy project was mounting one Brad shot that measured 6'3! He was in our coop eating all the eggs...and had been for many nights! The one Grayson just shot recently measures 6'6. They're big out here.
Usually snakes are nocturnal but I guess this one's hunger pains overtook his sense. He was shot at noon under the bridge where Grayson fishes. Bats sleep under the bridge during the day and this snake climbed the support pillars and got to the sleeping bats. Apparently since bats are dead to the world when they sleep...per internet research after this event...they were easy prey for the snake.
And, all 5 bats were full grown....one of the most amazing parts about the whole thing. I thought they were much larger, and some species do grow larger. But, on average, most species are about this size. Did you see its teeth in the closeup pic? Kinda creepy. Grayson spread their wings out to get an idea of how large they are with wing span included. The wings were MUCH larger than the bodies of the bats.
And yes...everytime he cuts something open it's about like a Cracker Jack box! So far a pregnant possum with 7 babies...not 4!, a 5 ft rattlesnake that had eaten a rabbit, our pet cat the dogs got ahold of that was due anyday with kittens...but we pretty much knew what to expect with her. He harvested 5 fully formed, furry kittens. Was really kinda sad but still interesting. Never pass up an opportunity to learn! And then this bat eating snake. I love that he's such a boy and loves this stuff. And I'm so grateful our little boys have him to "help" and look up to.
Our family loves Cabela's!! That place is awesome. Their taxidermy work is amazing. Bass Pro is pretty cool too. But as far as animals go....Cabela's can't be topped!
I love the genuinely happy smiles of the babies. All the children are obviously well-loved and nurtured. Thanks for posting the pictures.
