Picture Journey of a Twin Pregnancy - 35 weeks!

Babies clothes have been washed, travel crib set up and waiting for babies, swings in living room. Suddenly it's all beginning to seem entirely real....the someday aspect finally dissolving into an amazing reality. Four and a half more weeks...if I make it that long. Hoping for at least another two and a half. Poor uterus seems to be a little irritable at this point but if we make it until next Thursday...the amazing 36 week milestone....life is good. And I have every faith that not only will I make it until next Thursday but I will supersede that day. In fact, there is a huge likelihood that this will probably go on for weeks and I'll fly into the 38th and 39th weeks of pregnancy still obnoxiously large and pregnant. As of now, I'm measuring 43.5 cm in fundal height. I measured 39 cm only two weeks ago at 33 weeks so babies are growing at a blessedly rapid rate. I topped out at a mere 42 cm at 40 weeks with Garrison and Grant. So, at currently 43.5 cm wit these two little boys I am already larger than I have ever been in any previous pregnancy ever...and I still have 4.5 weeks left to go. This whole size thing should get interesting. I have now seriously outgrown every maternity shirt I own..minus one. This morning I put on the one trusted, dearly loved shirt I dare wear out in public that bought me all the way to the end of Garrison's and Grant's pregnancy and was a bit horrified to discover that my freakishly expanded belly pulled every button apart. That was a bit horrifying but somehow managed to be somewhat amusing all at the same time. So, I am down to one shirt...that entirely worn, really comfortable, all too entirely faded, Lucille Ball type of swinging shirt....I suppose it's a good thing I love her style...that still manages to fit and will probably be seen in every picture from here on out...unless I just give it all up and resort to a bra. But, I'll spare you on that one.
I am still fairly certain that I am the only one in the world that finds this fascinating but because I do I still document it all. For the bored...skip it. But measurements to this point are:
12 weeks: 10 cm
16 weeks: 17 cm
21 weeks: 22.5 cm
22 weeks: 25 cm
26 weeks: 29 cm
29.5 weeks: 33 cm, I think.
33 weeks: 39 cm
35 weeks: 43.5 cm
The picture progression...just for fun.
5 weeks unknowingly pregnant with 2!
6 weeks
7 weeks
8 weeks
9 weeks
13.5 weeks
16 weeks
23 weeks. Twins!
26 weeks
32 weeks
Today at 35 weeks!
And for some comparison pics since I have now reached a centimeter and a half over the size that I was in this picture. Taken in the same shirt....yes, a whole entire 6 years later....just for the fun of comparison.
42 cm at 39 wks 3 days with Garrison and Grant

43.5 cm at 35 weeks 2 days with Graham and Gatlin

Of Potties and Books and Pools and Things

Lasagna in oven, bread out rising and everything clean with candle lit. I really really just love a clean house. I am convinced there is nothing that brings more peace to the soul and more euphoric endorphins than the smell of a clean house, picked up and newly mopped floors, a clean kitchen with no dishes, and going into a perfectly clean bathroom...or 2 or 3. I just really really love clean....and uncluttered. And to say that the whole nesting thing finally kicked in is a bit of an understatement. So, for the clean loving soul the nesting phase brings with it massive amounts of work, a contentment and a sweet comfort of having everything in its place and in order. The house smells good therefore bringing joy to the soul and it looks good. And when it looks good it just really unclutters the brain and frees it to think without being enslaved to all of the crap laying around. An uncluttered house really does equal an uncluttered brain resulting in clearer thoughts and my own sanity being preserved.

Smell of dinner, longed for storm clouds blowing in, stinky, rowdy, clean cut, freshly bathed little boys, unhomemade bread on the rise, clean bathrooms and floors and kitchen and house, bed made up, candles lit. Life is good.

I'm not exactly sure what I was thinking when I thought of the last few weeks of pregnancy. Somehow I had this dreamy thing going of laying around on the couch reading books and taking it easy as my orbitous, peachy, globe of a belly finished growing two babies. As it is, I'm doing good to sit for lunch. We seem to be reaching milestones at a rapid rate. I purposed to try and have Ivye in underwear by the time babies get here. She could've been done by the end of July since she is so ready but we just never seemed to get around to getting the potty chair I really wanted for her. I could've just picked one up at Wal Mart but they all seem to have lights and sounds, way too many crevices to clean and just, in general, seem more like a toy than something for accomplishing a life changing milestone. I wanted simple, to the point, easy to clean, and basic. Just a comfy chair with a hole. Since she possesses a deathly fear of the open toilet...the large looming hole that sucks one up into the depths of the septic....a potty chair seemed mandatory at this point. I guess I would too if I'd fallen in as many times as she has. Gavin seemed to skip the whole little chair thing and went straight for the real deal. But, not so for Ivye-girl.

Within twenty minutes of getting it out of the box she peed in it and never really looked back. Granted, she's running around naked all day until she gets the hang of it, but so far so good. Despite the fact when putting kids to bed last night I found a single golden turd laying in the middle of the bedroom floor she is making huge progress. Miraculously no one seemed to notice or step on that little egg so lovingly deposited by her naked self. But....she does pee reliably in it now. And, after last night's little turd dropping scenario she spent today pooping in the potty chair as well. It's safe to say, she's got the hang of it. So, I figure a few more days and we'll be done with potty training yet another baby. She's so independent and feisty that she thrives on doing it all on her own. So, her potty chair sits in the kitchen, she runs in, pees and just keeps going. She hates the isolation of the bathroom so, for now, she just continues all of her bodily functions in the midst of the chaos. I suppose since this is the norm, as she's never taken time off or excused herself to pee or poop before, it only makes sense to just keep right on doing it in the middle of daily activities. I figure we'll eventually graduate up to bathroom status...but, for now, I'm good with no diapers.

And I actually think this whole potty training thing just keeps getting easier with each one. Grayson trained at 19 months, Evye was a whole 2 1/2, Aubrey right at 2, Garrison and Grant about 2 1/2, Garrett 2 and then Gavin back to 19 months.....the one that took the absolute longest to accomplish every milestone there is and didn't walk until 17 months was potty trained a mere 2 months after he began walking. And now sweet Ivye at only 22 months. I think it must just be all of the examples running around in front of them these days. I suppose when you follow 15 people a day into the bathroom you're bound to get the general idea. So it is that we have no one in diapers for a few weeks...minus bedtime. But I don't ever remember a time in 12 years where we've had absolutely nobody in diapers 24/7. But I figure if they're old enough to tell you they actually need a diaper on to pee or come whimpering to you that they're dirty and don't prefer to sit in their own crap they have now reached a point of making it to the toilet. And so...she does!

More milestones reached.....Garrison and Grant are reading complete books and Garrett is sounding out words. It's an amazing thing to have reached this massive moment after having now taught two severely dyslexic children and the painstaking process it can sometimes become. It's such a blessing and such an encouragement to have three little guys that just take off like Evye did. It's a definite reminder that they all do eventually get there oneday. And watching Grayson finally read entire grade appropriate books and develop a love of reading is the motivation needed to continue plodding onward with sweet Aubrey-girl.

Last minute items are now being gathered to prepare for the arrival of babies. The birth pool arrived earlier this past week so we gave it a trial run...minus a couple of babies....to test it out and see how long it takes to inflate and fill with water. The tankless water heater with its infinite amount of heated water is proving invaluable. It does every night as the day draws to an end and everyone gets cleaned up but it's an amazing thing reading about other's births and knowing we don't have to wait on a water heater to fill back up to finish filling the pool. Some stories say it takes as long as 2 hrs to fill due to waiting on the heater. It took a mere half hour of continuous water to fill the pool for us. I'm forever grateful for our tankless water heater...and with each addition to the family my gratitude only grows. I'm not exactly sure what I had in mind when thinking of the pool size but it was most definitely not what was blown up and drug into the bedroom by air compressor loving husband and Grayson. It seriously took up the entire amount of space left at the end of our bed. I'm not exatcly sure one can imagine its largeness until seeing it in reality. Hopefully it truly proves to be nature's epidural that everyone claims it to be. Guess we'll find out in a few weeks!

It even has a cup holder!

And so it is that we continue on in our readiness for babies! Only a few more things left and we'll be set. Hopefully they stay put for another two weeks and we can shoot for Oct 10th.

The Need to Run

So people....just for the record....this is NOT me out there running. We live in the deserts of west Texas. So, for the curious, this is the only picture I could find of some random woman out running on the beaches. It just seemed to look better instead of putting a pic of me and my 34 week twin stomach out here running amidst the cactus and mesquite we have going. This picture actually makes me want to run. I am quite sure no self portrait I put up here is going to make anyone want to go running. And on another totally different note....I think I'd find me a better support/running bra-tank top. I seriously think she's about to fall out of it. But I suppose I'd rather fall out of it than having the opposite going on with nothing to fill it up. On second thought...I'd probably be so proud of what she has going on that I might just wear that tank top....or better yet, my usual attire of nothing but a running bra and some running shorts.

Either I'm nearing the end and just very tired of being this big or somewhere in the midst of training for the 5K I developed a passion for running. And I really just long to go run. So deep was the desire and so desperate the urge I finally asked supportive husband if he thought there was any harm in me just running at least a half mile. He greatly discouraged it. And knowing me all too well and the fact that I will, in the end, do whatever I feel like doing unless I have been given a definite no he finally just came out and said absolutely not to. Granted, at this point, it probably would kind of hurt the back and hips and be more than a little uncomfortable but I figure I'm about to be really uncomfortable in labor so I'm not exactly sure what the difference is. But, for whatever reason, I have the innate urge to be free and light and at least feel like I'm not as out of shape as I really am at this point. Cooler mornings have arrived and it beckons both heart and feet. Sunrise, early morning dew, cooler air, wind on face. I miss it. I miss the quiet, the challenge that it all is when one runs, the ability to push myself and win or be defeated by only myself. I miss the freedom that it all was, the solitude, just the wind and my own beating heart...the feeling that I could do anything. And some part of me wants that back before I go into labor....just to remember that I can do it, that I can overcome in every way. That in order to accomplish anything in life I have to surrender to the pain and accept it for what it is to overcome and gain anything from it. To surrender and accept the pain is completely different than being completely overcome by it. Somewhere in there, there is an acceptance of it knowing that I am making great progress through the discomfort of it all. Labor is indeed very much like running....except you can't exactly willingly quit. But since quitting is nowhere in me once I have started a run I don't ever stop until I have reached the goal...whether it be governed by time or distance. I just always find that I can go a little longer and it's all just a mind game...the need to just suck it up and do it. The more complaints that are uttered or given room to grow the greater the discomfort and the more energy expended on what is needed to just push through.

And so it is in labor as well. With protective, encouraging, supportive husband by my side I have found that I can run indefinitely. And just as with running, with him by my side I can overcome and manage labor. There is comfort in his presence, solace in his touch and when he is there I know there is nothing I can't do. I do know more now than I ever in my lifetime have that I truly can do all things through Christ who does strengthen me but many times I have found that he placed sweet husband in my life to remind me of that fact when I grow weary or the road is long. Both of which occur in running and in labor.

But I have this need to run just to prove to myself that I can do it. To remember what it is to just overcome and push through the difficult to get to the elation and the victory that lies so closely within reach. The logistics of running are not so easily overcome at this point. I now weigh more than I ever have in my entire life....another obstacle looming after these babies are born, and I am now past full term size for all of our single babies and have only 3 centimeters to go, probably less now, in fundal height before reaching where I was at 40 weeks with Garrison and Grant....and I still have 6 weeks to go with these guys. Unless these babies come entirely early I will definitely set my own record for largeness. And it is estimated that they will undoubtedly weigh more at birth than Garrison's 6'4 and Grant's 7'2. I guess eating 120 grams of protein a day does indeed pay off and have it's benefits when carrying two within.

At this point I don't even think about how odd it would look to the world at large if I were to get out there and run. So great is the desire that I really just don't care. But in order to honor loving husband's pleading request to wait it out I have succumbed to just walking in the early morning sunrise. House is quiet, children sleep and moon gracefully exchanges vigils with sun. In the end I did experiment and try running a little. I couldn't help it. My broken but healing toe can finally manage being confined within a running shoe once more and so I had to at least see what it felt like to run again. And, honestly...it felt good. So good, in fact, that if I didn't have more respect for my husband I'd just defy him and do it anyway. But I have no desire to brain damage poor Baby A by beating his head against my pelvis for half hours at a time and, despite my desire to hold them, smell them and finally meet them, I have a goal of reaching no less than 38 weeks. Running, at this point, would undoubtedly put me into labor given the number of contractions I have the ability to give myself these days. On that note, I have found that if I clean house, manage school and stay on my feet all day long I am pretty confidently guaranteed a night's worth of consistent contractions that result in very little quality sleep. So, I experimented, I ran, I figured out I could indeed do it and I not so willingly ceased it all and returned to a walk.

Running husband encouraged setting a celebratory resume date of December 1st, claiming it gives me a date on which to focus and something to achieve. Until then I am free to focus on finishing growing babies, birthing babies, nursing babies and healing after it all without obsessing on the fact I am not running.....and the deep longing that resides within. It seemed to work for awhile until I realized that December 1st is still a good ten or so weeks away. So it is that my longing remains. Perhaps to prove to myself that I can conquer, perhaps to make me feel better about the whale like status I have now attained or perhaps just to feel free again....to feel the power, the confidence, the victory, the achievement, the quiet, the endurance, the character that I know is built while out there overcoming the "I can't" and "I quit's"...that I can overcome.

Yes....I really desperately long to run again. I absolutely love every minute of being pregnant with these little boys, the absolute miracle of carrying twins again, feeling their movements and the amazing experience of carrying a baby...or two.....that the Lord used sweet husband and I to create. I am not miserable by any means...but I am very ready to meet them and very excited and ready to slip back into running gear. More than even really accomplishing a 5K right now I really just want to run again....hit dirt roads and let winding asphalt highway take me into the hills again. But before that happens I must finish growing some babies and give birth.....twice.

33 Week Twin Ultrasound

Ultrasounds just make me nervous. This is only the 2nd one in this pregnancy but it still was quite the experience.....just wanting to see 2 little beating hearts. Knowing there's two in there and not always being able to feel Baby B move plays games with the mind. Yesterday brought with it nothing but amazing news....and pictures! Both babies are still very much undoubtedly little boys!!! Both are measuring slightly ahead for their gestational age with estimated weights of 4'10 and 4'8. And both babies are head down!! A very far cry from Garrison continually being head down and Grant forever being breech....and born that way! These two little guys went from both being breech at 21 wks when we found them to flipping to vertex around 28 or so weeks and just staying put. At one point B got a little sideways and was oblique/transverse but is now head down and has chosen to stay that way for quite awhile. The odds of 2 vertex babies are pretty slim to none so it was a very fun surprise and such a sweet thing to see 2 little heads pressed together yet again in this sonogram. Both little hearts beating perfectly and both boys wiggling around in their squished confines.

Baby A has yet to ever move his arm and hand away from his face. It definitely makes for some difficult face views. It was up there last time and refused to move this time around too. Just as Gavin slept for his 1st entire two years this baby sleeps also. Arm up by the face, head turned into it. Baby B is folded completely in half like a butt breech baby turned upside down and presenting vertex. His feet are up by his eyes and he sucked on his knee for the majority of the sono. Be interesting to see how he pulls that off once he arrives. His eyes remained open the majority of the time so we got lots of sweet views of him looking around. We did finally get one great 3D look at his entire face and from what we could see he looks like a little tiny miniature Garrett. Baby A's face was so squished up it was hard to tell who exactly he resembles....other than just looking exactly like the rest of everybody. He had the anterior placenta blocking one 1/2 of his face while his arm, the dividing membrane between babies and Baby B pressing in served to fitfully obstruct the other 1/2 of his face.

There is an excitement that motivates every fiber of my being when seeing these boys. I suppose after losing a baby at 14 wks it's hard to really feel connected or attached to this pregnancy. But after seeing two big babies moving, wiggling and each with their own personalities already within it brings with it an immediate love. To know already that they look like the others and resemble their siblings is just amazing to me. I anticipate their birth and no longer dread the pain in getting them here. It's an amazing thing to not have to worry about their delivery this time and have the peace of knowing we don't have to go anywhere. It's a very great blessing to have midwives that will attend a home birth and just be able to anticipate their birth without trepidation and all of the emotional turmoil that surrounded Garrison and Grant's. After seeing them yesterday there now exists an eagerness to meet them that seemed to evade me to up until this point. My sweet, sweet boys that grow within. I think I am in love. I know I am in love.

And how grateful I am for my husband that not only accepts the fact that I now rival the size of a male elephant and have taken on a new barrel like shape but has become quite endeared to it also. How very much in love I am with him. How he motivates me to carry these babies to the end even when I become a little too motivated to have them now. How grateful I am for how very much he loves me....so entirely massively pregnant and after the fact when I shrink back down to human status again.

Baby B is the 2 top left side pictures and the bottom right. The blurry parts in his pics is his very long umbilical cord draped all over the place. Bottom left and 2 top right are Baby A with his arm and hand forever up by his face. Blurry parts in his pics is the anterior placenta obstructing the view of him.

Baby A in the 2 pics on the left. A full face view but completely and totally squished between everything in there. Baby B in the 3 pics on the right with his knee and foot up by his face. It could be Baby A's knee and foot t hat he was sucking on. We never were quite sure by the end of it. But based on his position I think we finally guessed it was probably his own.

And while the babies heads are way too big now to fit into one picture this will still be one of my all time favorite pictures of them. Taken at 21 wks when we found them and their heads were little enough to be pictured together.

7 more weeks!!

Do Not be Dismayed

So do not fear for I am with you, be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Is 41:10

Why are you so downcast, Oh my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Saviour and my God.

Sleepless night fades with morning...rest, ever the elusive thought. First rays of dawn stretching long graceful fingers over horizon painting the world in hues of pink and orange. Tears fall. I don't want to be here again. Not now. Not really ever. So much still left to deal with....the road continuing on. Overwhelmed, exhausted, drained. Husband burdened by all of life...processing in his own different way.

Heavy heart as I seek to avoid this road my mind wanders. Justice...there is none. It does not exist. My heart screams out and for days on end my anger seeks to be tempered to no avail. It surges forth in volcanic explosions...from anger to tears to despair to hopelessness to injustice to just succumbing as a victim of the system to mindless people that think no further than the piece of paper that sits before them on a desk. They see the pathetic excuse of the 1/2 human 1/2 animal that sits before them filling the room with lies but they fail to see the little girl whose story fills the report. Has rape and aggravated assault become such a standard crime in America that they get no worse than this???? I discipline my children with harsher consequences for such massively lesser offenses. In our home there are consequences for disrespect of parents and others around them, talking back, treating others lesser than themselves, running others down, degrading anyone, and any acts of any kind concerning physical violence put forth in anger. Obviously, a lot of boy wrestling goes along with the territory here but anything done in anger is immediately dealt with and entails some pretty rugged consequences. And yet, this almost grown adult, a mere 2 years away from being legal adult age, rapes and beats a 6 year old girl...our 6 year old girl.....to the point of indefinite hearing loss and some "expert" decides this excuse for humanity is a perfect candidate for 12 months of mandatory counseling and can be properly rehabilitated??? In which they then use our tax dollars to put gas in state vehicles to drive 64 miles once a week for 12 months to "counsel" him concerning his actions????? I've got a better idea....how about they turn a male 10 yrs his senior loose on him while he lays defenseless against sheer muscle power while he is raped in every way as a knife is held to him and is then beaten to the point he can no longer hear out of his left ear? Where is justice??? Where is God?

No proof of aggravated assault, no signs in victim of excessive emotional trauma, victim probably exaggerating through imagination actions of actual assault, great "remorse" on victim's behalf, great potential for rehabilitation, "not likely" that offense will be repeated again with victim or others, and so on. All words that fill a report written by "experts". And I'm supposed to forgive this? How do you forgive someone so cruel and so predatory whose actions were so premeditated while the system does nothing on her behalf? And I can do nothing to right the wrong. If I were to go burn down their entire house in their sleep or do to him what he has done I would no doubt get life in prison if not the death penalty for attempted murder. How is it that the victims can remain faceless....far removed and cold, a gender with an age on a sheet of paper....from the minds of the ones that will determine the fate of the offender?? They can manage to look into the face of the violater, be taken by his manipulative tears and hear the "remorse", taking pity since it is, afterall, in this day and age not quite the crime that it used to be. Labeled now as a "common crime"....a hormonal teenager inappropriately acting it all out with bad taste in child's play....according to psychological experts.

Volatile emotions seek to overwhelm as husband and I grow ever so weary of this battlefield in which the war is waged. I once again fight off the feelings of abandonment and forsakeness as I wait on God to avenge us. Days that should be so filled with joy weighed down by the burdens of life....continually waiting on the Lord when He seems so silent. More tears....day after day. Disillusioned by what I thought was truth. How blessed we are in some ways yet how seemingly forsaken in others. I struggle to lay this foundation on solid ground yet still it crumbles. We are being tested in ways I never thought imaginable....parenting, protection, finances, children....and I waver. It all takes its toll within a marriage and upon the whole family dynamic as children react to the intense Spiritual warfare and loving husband and I struggle to stay afloat emotionally in the midst of insurmountable odds that rise against us. One of our own children being diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome....not at all surprising given what we have known and seen in her through the years but still so very much to comprehend, to try and process and just deal with as we struggle with the rest of what has taken place over the last little while. "What does not kill you makes you stronger." So we walk through this all hand in hand knowing we will hold fast and though we waver we will not be overcome. Because we stand on Truth that is unfailing. He does not leave us or forsake us. He meets all of our needs according to His riches in glory. And we seek comfort in Him because He is our refuge and is building a life story and testimony as we grow stronger within Him. He will accomplish within me what He has begun. I refuse to be overtaken with bitterness and unforgiveness....despite how hard it seems as I fight it all. I'm not sure how to forgive but I know it's not impossible despite what I feel, the volatile emotions that lie within and the tears that could fill oceans. I know that we will not be left alone and that finances will not overtake us. He is our provider and we live according to His principles. Though we mess up time and again He is faithful to forgive and He is merciful. He provides for His chidren. I will trust in the God that never lets go and I will hold on to the promises He speaks because in the promises there is victory. I refuse to give up. Such feeble words in the midst of such emotional turmoil. We've come through too much to give up hope now. So though the tears prevail and all of life seems filled with injustice at times I know that He is a God of truth and of justice and mercy and love and He does avenge on His children's behalf.

The truth is...we are blessed. In so many more ways than what we fight and the intensity of the battles that wage around us. We have 8 perfectly amazing children and we have been blessed with the gift of twins not once...but twice. How many in the world are just longing to experience this sweet blessing even once..yet here we sit having been given this two different times. What an amazing life we live with our children that are educated and know what it is to respect and obey the Lord and those around them. How blessed we are to have the freedom to homeschool....that we live where we do and that sweet husband's job brings him honor and joy. Though the battle continues in its intensity and relentlessness I will stand firm through the tears because I know this is such a fleeting time in the overall span of life....and we will be deeper and stronger...perhaps better parents and better people....with a deeper understanding of who He is because of it all.

Picture Journey of a Twin Pregnancy - 32 weeks

This was supposed to be every week, then went to every 4 weeks and it's now been 6 since the last picture. So, here we all are at 32 weeks...a far cry from where I was at 26 weeks. Sweet boys are definitely growing!! And as it is my birthday today it's a very, very amazing gift to be carrying these two after beginning a 14 week miscarriage of our 14 week baby boy on this very same day last year. Such a sweet unexpected gift to be here now.

And I must say, there has come a point in this pregnancy that I crossed into the realm of freakishly large and it's just plain scary to reveal the unclothed pregnant stomach...but I know I'll regret it later if I don't document this journey. And honestly, I'm a bit endeared to the roundness of it all. It never ceases to amaze me the flexibility of the human body and how intricately God created this whole thing. That it can expand to such massive proportions and then shrink back to perfection after the fact. It's an amazing thing to be the avenue for which God creates life...to carry it and feel it within, to see life grow before your eyes and then have the amazing journey of giving birth to a baby....or two.

It's still a little humorous when people ignorantly ask...."Awww...due next week??" or "Looks like only a week or two left??!!". I answer back with the fact I still have until the end of October and they begin stammering, stuttering and backtracking. I ease the blow with the fact that there are indeed two babies that grow within and then waylay their fears with the promise that I will not give birth on their concrete flooring...or in their public bathroom. It does feel like a bit of a clown show as people turn to watch the stomach walk by and give sympathetic smiles....or even worse....gawk and raise eyebrows....or just plain stare....men and women alike. I have learned that the smaller sized pregnancies are definitely a little better for public outings.

On a birth note....the birth pool has been ordered along with the kit to have at the house. Other misc items are being gathered that we'll have on hand. I have decided this will be the shortest, most enjoyable labor of our children since we are not having to travel 4 entire hours to reach a birthing center or midwife and Brad and I can be left alone in the peace of our own home to just labor together and have some babies. Our unassisted birth was by far one of the most amazing experiences of our lifetime and this, I am quite certain, will be just as amazing. It's a very healing thing to be able to do twins over again and just be able to enjoy them and have them in peace rather than trying to prove to all of the medical community that vertex-breech twins can be safely delivered at 40 weeks, that carrying them past 36/37 weeks is not overdue and that refusing to sign their papers for a mandatory c-section did not mean imminent death for our babies. To embrace this twin pregnancy and enjoy it.....anticipate their impeding birth......is surreal and such an amazing experience.

Baby clothes have been brought down from the attic and I've begun to feel the need to organize babies and their items into daily life. Only 4-8 more weeks left!

32 weeks with twins...it's an amazing thing!
