Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.) So...here we are. I find it very difficult to believe there are only 10 wks remaining. I looked up in the chaos, fun and commotion that his time of year always brings with 19 birthdays in only 3 wks, hosting the huge, family, everybody-birthday-party bash and the beginning of a new school year, not to mention the chicks and goat experiences and then potty training Garrett. Then when you add the back and forth trips to Fort Worth time just seems to slip away unnoticed. Though it makes this pregnancy go by so entirely fast I also lament what that means as the children grow. These days are so fleeting and they grow so fast. What it would be to slow time for just awhile......just to hold them a little longer.
As my pregnancies progress I always have specific milestones that catch my attention as the time passes. Usually they are the 12 wk, 20 wk(1/2 way), 30 wk and then 36 wk. marks. So, here we are with only 10 more weeks before we welcome Baby Ivye into our arms and home and behold just what exactly God has been working on and fashioning these last 30 wks. of our lives.
