And We Move!!

Due to bathroom pipes in basement now spraying raw sewage each time a toilet is plunged, and they are often due to septic issues, and leaking sewage each time a toilet is flushed our moving date has changed to...right now.  I am confident our time here is done and I have never been happier to know that we have a place to go. There is peace in leaving and an excitement we have not possessed in a long while. More to come on that later...as time is of the essence and this is but a short break with a hungry tiny girl. For now....pictures. The move has been challenging as all 14 of us work to recover from a stomach virus that began over the weekend. As we have moved we have found mold under furniture and on walls behind shelving we did not even know existed, not to mention all the places of which we were already aware. It now is growing on subfloors from severe humidity of basement below, just as it did under carpet padding, eventually pushing through to carpet and making us aware of its existence and the extent of the severity of it all. I wait with anticipation to a time all of us can just rest and bask in the peace of a new place...laying behind us two years of mold and mice induced sicknesses. But, for now, we exit this place much like we entered it....puking within days of arriving and puking within days of leaving it. Rather fitting, I thought.

This post has been written over a period of 3 days. We currently are now in our new home without our main computer so all blogging is being done via iPad. And I just have no clue how to center words up over pictures via the iPad app. So...any wordy picture details will be conveniently found to the left. And, since the iPad is not currently sinc-ed with photostream there are many missing pictures of our move since they are currently stuck in other devices. Granted, any pictures of our current home at this point would be a little up close and personal due to the fact this move was greatly expedited. Instead of being the the "slow burn" move of which husband spoke so fondly it quickly transitioned into a " throw all that crap in a box and go" type of chaos, thanks to the new turn of sewage events. It looks a little like our life just threw up all over 5 acres. So yeah...no pictures in the new place at this point is probably not all bad.

Time to go!

Somebody figured out how to climb a crib.

An afternoon break for tea with the girls.

And the everyday life of us. I find it a bit ironic that orthodontist appts are one of my favorite things in life. Free flavored coffe, Pinterest and my primary job is just to sit and wait. No less than half an hour of blissful downtime.

 The joys of cheap entertainment.

The ever happy Junebug.

Poor sick babies. Maybe you don't feel so hot when you fall asleep like this.

New windows are in!!! Average electric bill for new house is 150.00 p/ month compared to the 550.00 we are currently paying. And there is no cold wind or hot air blowing through gaps and open spaces between window and frame. Heated house with effortlessly, gliding windows. It's just something to never take for granted. And real floors. I think I forgot the sheer amazingness of real flooring.

The up to no good duo. Little bit of mustache trimmer work never did a boy harm. Guess a haircut was long overdue anyway. There's definitely been worse....like the time same said trimmers were run down entire length of a certain boy's head. It turned out to be quite the perfect landing strip for any low flying aircraft. These guys were discovered before they got any further with their reverse Mohawks. And based on that grin there's no doubting which one had the idea and did the trimming on both of them.

Sometimes in life....like when you're sick and trying to move....I just wanna thank the creators of disposable diapers and Baby Einstein. And yes....that chair needs help. Or more like a dumpster.

Making progress!

Nothing soothes tears and tummy aches like hitchin' a ride.

My 16 lb workout of the day.

Hangin' around on our last night after a very long few days worth of work. The end of a 2 year period in life.

All the places he hikes. Sent to me as he headed off into the mountains. Rather comforting for the mama's heart, I thought.

Some of the places he's been on the last few trips.

When all the life leaves it, it goes quietly back to sleep.

Packing it up!

And I just really seriously can't remember if I included pics of the new closet in the house tour post. If I didn't....this would be the closet in our new home that will house the everybody closet system. If you've already seen it....then look again!

Hanging out and showing some love before bedtime.

It might be an issue if your mom has long hair when.....

Morning of moving day. Apparently you don't have to have a bed to sleep comfortably. Best investment ever made. He uses this with a rain fly more than his dome tent! Their request...to get each kid one so they can camp out and swing under the trees together. Before long our 5 acres of Forest will look like a small cocoon of children.

The humor of life with a ton of boys in it.

The end of an era. I'll miss her little space.

Ready for our 1st morning in our new home. I'm so thank for considerate kids that know how to make a place a home.

Night football! Bundled up with hot tea watching lightening across the horizon for the first time in over two years. How much I've missed this. How many nights my heart has longed for this and I've wondered if we'd ever know it again. There were nights the ache to return to what was, all that used to be, ran so deep that tears still fell....even two long years later. This....this tiny piece of earth with pasture and open spaces and grazing deer and big green John Deere tractors, old hatted cowboys with little plump wives....it is healing. It won't ever be what was...but it is our new gift....not to replace what was but to bring life to the present...to the here and now. The old hatted farmer and his wife, so great was their anticipation of meeting us, he drove his big red truck down today to welcome us. We exchanged numbers and were given instructions to call if we need help with anything....once we get settled to come for a visit and just sit for a bit. Farmer Hal and his wife....the return to a simpler, sweeter life....a life that we have very deeply missed.

The morning view.

Just maybe your kids have seen an oven fire when their reaction to a gas stove is...."Mom!!! It's on fire 'gain!!!" And yes...that is dog food warming up on the right burner. Our trusty, faithful, ever loyal 13 yr old Shepherd requires some extra TLC these days so we cook her meals and love on her a little more that way. But yes....we're cooking dog food.

And after a long hard week's worth of work nothing quite like coming in to grab a cold one.
